UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women, and this photo series was built around a specific angle on that mission: women working as bus drivers in Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier and Marrakech, a role still dominated by men across Morocco’s public transport sector. The series followed individual drivers at work, behind the wheel, at the depot, interacting with passengers, treating each city’s drivers as part of the same larger story rather than a single case study. The intent was to make visible a role that’s rarely photographed, giving UN Women a set of images that document real working women rather than an illustrative or staged concept.
