Autostrad is a Jordanian indie band from Amman, formed in 2007, blending rock, reggae, Latin and funk influences with lyrics written in Jordanian Arabic slang about everyday life, love, struggle and self-discovery. Across three albums, Fe Autostrad, Autostrad and Nitrogen, the band built a strong following among Jordanian youth. This portrait-and-performance shoot followed the band through a single session that moved between register and mood: an outdoor group portrait staged against a rugged, rocky backdrop that let each member’s presence read clearly in daylight, candid solo portraits captured between takes as the band settled into character, and a low-lit live shot from a vocal performance, the frontman mid-note under stage-colored light with the rest of the band dissolving into shadow behind him. The set balances the posed and the spontaneous, giving Autostrad a group of images that work equally well as press portraits and as documentation of their stage presence.
